Born out of a semi weekly improv session in Downtown Brooklyn, Ressik is a band and an album created through the development of friendships old and new. When Jared Yee, Andrew Dow and Mike Marcinowski began improvising together, it was immediately clear that there was something special between them, and something wholly their own. After some time developing a language together, the opportunity to record at Wonderpark Studios in Brooklyn presented itself, with the great Eva Lawitts at the helm. After two sessions they felt that there was enough material to release their debut album, Ressik.

Ressik is fully improvised, with the exception of Far Away From Nothing, that has nothing more than a few chord changes. We wanted to keep with the spirit of our weekly sessions; completely open, but with a sense of developing each "song" in real time. We hope that you find something in this recording that resonates with you, as it did for us while making it.
