Faced with a complete loss of musical work and creative endeavors at the beginning of the pandemic, and displaced from his home in Brooklyn, NY, Andrew began to compile new improvisations based around the electric bass guitar, specifically with effects. As was the case with his first solo recording, Absence Of Light, this would be his way to document his feelings and views of a specific moment. As personal as this recording is, it is also a reflection of a time shared with most every human being across the globe.

Thank you to Brian Doser for your incredible mastering work, and for working with me to get the sound as I heard it in my head.

Mary Halvorson is a genius composer and guitarist who has developed her own musical language, and with Code Girl she has incorporated poetry into that language. Incredible compositions and lyricism (each track is a different kind of poem). Halvorson's playing is as great as usual, and all the other members of the band sound great. Robert Wyatt's singing in particular works extremely well in the tracks he's featured. Highly, highly recommend. rat
