In 2015 I was asked to bring a group to perform a set of music for an evening at the historic Armory building in Somerville, Massachusetts. The building, originally built in 1903 for the training of the Massachusetts Volunteer Militia, had been brought to life just five years prior as a community arts space. My usual group at the time wasn't all available for the evening of October sixteenth, so I put together this group for the performance. It was loose and open, and I trusted each musician to respond in real time. The outcome was incredibly satisfying, and even moving.

I had never intended to release anything from that evening. I had used an inexpensive hand held recorder for my own review after the fact, but having re listened to these two pieces I felt that they merited to be properly released into the world. I unfortunately did not professionally record my output while I lived in Boston, but it was a time of important friendships, of gaining confidence, and of finding an original compositional voice. I hope that, regardless of the quality of the recording, you can hear the passion and the community spirit of the music during this time.
